| According to Rose Dul, Maria's sister-in-law, Maria was born in Poland not long after her parents and two brothers moved there, sometime between 1907 and 1910. She married Stanley Pirog and they had five children: Wladek, or Walter, a son; and four daughters: Agniezska, or Agnes, and three other girls. Maria Dul Pirog lived in Cholewiana Gora (pronounced Kol-e-vi-na Gura), not far from Spie, Poland. Rose and Mike Dul visited her in 1974 and recalls: "Mary lived in a beautiful home with electricity — quite the opposite of her brother John's home, which was only 20 minutes away." Stanley and Maria Pirog's five children are all second cousins of Joseph Lasica. |
